Live In Maids

Live in Maids are more common for Thais but expatriates sometimes opt for a live in maid. This will depend on the size of the accommodation because the more space, the easier it is to have a maid or domestic help live with you but not always be in the same room. Expatriates are not used to having their maids or domestic help live-in and so it's not so common. Thais however are used to living in close quarters with others and don't seem to have the same need for personal space as expatriates.
There are certain things you might want to consider if you want to have a live-in maid or domestic help.
  • - It's more expensive
  • - You'll need to have the space and basic furnishings such as bed, TV, cupboard
  • - You'll have to provide meals
  • - You will probably have to get a second maid to keep the first company

The item about having more than one maid is fairly important because Thais do not like to be alone, stay alone or sleep alone. Tahis are afraid of ghosts and this needs to be taken seriously. If you want a live-in maid, you will certainly be better off having two. Not only can they share and swap duties, but they will provide eachother with company.
A television is important too as most girls like to stay up-to-date on the lastest sopa operas, reality TV shows and so on and so this ought to be considered mandatory as should be basic furnishings for her / their room.
